Oops, I did it again. I bought a brand-new denim jacket. Did I need it? Probably not. Was it 70% off? Hell yeah. You know, I recently decided to push sustainable/ethical fashion on this blog. And what did I do? I bought something brand-new.

But I feel like it’s important to show you the process of adjusting from buying fast fashion to slow fashion. For me at least, the transition isn’t that smooth, especially since it’s hard for me to shop at thrift stores now with the whole pandemic. But, this topic is for another post. It’s summertime! My favourite season. I love the heat. Anything above 25 degrees Celsius is ideal for me. I always tell people hot weather is being in a warm hug all the time. Doesn’t that sound nice?

Anyways, summer also means beach weather. If beaches are slowly opening up in your country, then it’s the perfect time to head to the beach! (While being safe, of course!). There’s nothing better than just relaxing by the water and leaving all your worries and stress behind. For many, it’s also a way to show off their stylish swimsuits or breezy summer dresses.

TOBERMORY CAMPING

Oh Tobermory, I never get sick of that place! I’ve been thinking about it more recently due to the recent cold, wintery weather we’ve been having here. *Sigh* So I decided to create a post looking back at the warm, summer days at Tobermory.

If you’ve never heard of Tobermory, it’s a small town located around four hours north of Toronto, near Georgian Bay. I suggest the best way to make the most of your stay is to go camping. There’s nothing like being surrounded by your closest friends in the wilderness (ok, wilderness might be exaggerating it a little) and just having a good time.

With no electricity and very poor cell phone signal ( … trust me, it gets better), you can actually talk with your friends or family without any distractions from the ever-present social media posts. Plus, it’s good for keeping active and having fun because there’s so many trails to hike and chores to do around the campsite. Yes, I just said chores are fun, at least only when it comes to camping.

WHITE SNEAKERS

White sneakers.

I love the look of white sneakers. It looks clean and goes with everything you wear. Plus, it’s perfect for spring as well.

I have been searching for white sneakers for months! I have yet to find the right pair. Aka, I haven’t found a pair I could afford. Obviously my best bet is buying white sneakers from the usual brands – Vans, Keds and Converse. Although the prices aren’t that expensive, I still like to see the other options out there. With that being said, one day I still hope to buy a pair from those brands. Once I find a job.

OVERALLS

It seems as though overalls are making a fashionable comeback. I have been seeing them all over my Tumblr and Pinterest feeds, and they are styled in such a chic way that I’ve been considering buying a pair for myself.

I remember wearing overalls back in the ’90s when I was a kid, and let me tell you, they were not very stylish. I’m glad to see the current reincarnations are more flattering and modern. There’s even different types other than the typical denim. There’s florals, different fabrics, plaid, short, baggy, the list goes on and on. With so much variety, it will be pretty easy to incorporate it into your closet and there will be numerous combinations you can do to let your personality shine through.
