It seems as though overalls are making a fashionable comeback. I have been seeing them all over my Tumblr and Pinterest feeds, and they are styled in such a chic way that I’ve been considering buying a pair for myself.

I remember wearing overalls back in the ’90s when I was a kid, and let me tell you, they were not very stylish. I’m glad to see the current reincarnations are more flattering and modern. There’s even different types other than the typical denim. There’s florals, different fabrics, plaid, short, baggy, the list goes on and on. With so much variety, it will be pretty easy to incorporate it into your closet and there will be numerous combinations you can do to let your personality shine through.

BOYFRIEND JEANS

I have been seeing boyfriend jeans everywhere for the past couple of years, and it doesn’t seem like the trend is going to slow down anytime soon. Personally, I prefer skinny jeans mostly because I am short and I feel like boyfriend jeans would make me look shorter. But who knows? I’ve never actually tried on boyfriend jeans, maybe I’ll like them.

You have to be careful with boyfriend jeans though, especially if you’re on the short side. Since boyfriend jeans are loose fitting and usually cropped at around the ankles, it can make your legs look shorter. The best way to wear it is with a tucked-in shirt and heels, preferably pumps, to elongate your legs. However, you can wear sneakers or flats, whatever floats your boat. If you’re tall, then any type of shoe would work since you’re blessed with long legs.

THE SHOPPING CONUNDRUM

How is it possible for me to love fashion so much but dislike the shopping process? Don’t get me wrong, I love to shop just as much as the next shopaholic, but the process of shopping is frustrating.

Maybe it’s my impatience. I don’t know. But I get overwhelmed by all of clothes staring at me and I have no idea where to begin. I look at the people who are shopping and they’re staring at the clothes meticulously and I’m wondering, “What? What are they looking for? How do they know what to look for?” I try to do the same but I just end up glazing over the clothes or go back to my old ways — quickly browsing through the clothes until something catches my eye.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Hi! Welcome to my fashion blog. I decided to create this blog because I love fashion. Ever since I was a kid I collected, or others would say hoarded, various fashion magazines such as Flare and Elle. I loved looking through the pages, analyzing the clothes, admiring the beauty of the models, and taking note of my favourite designers. Nowadays I use Pinterest, Tumblr, LookBook, and other social media platforms to get my fashion fix. I have a Tumblr account dedicated to street style, and my Pinterest account is saturated with fashion and style boards. I guess you can say I have a “passion for fashion”.

Admittedly, I don’t take enough risk regarding my personal style. It’s very safe. The major reason is that I don’t think I have the confidence to pull off some of the style and fashion trends I admire. Hopefully this blog will enable me to take more risks, and to become more confident in my own personal style.
