STRIPED OXFORD SHIRT

As a broke student in need of new clothes, I recently went on a thrift store run a couple of weeks ago. I went to my local Value Village and it too me a while to find something I really liked.

I’m always confused and slightly envious when my friends show me the awesome and stylish clothes they find at thrift stores while I struggle to find anything I like. But luckily on this trip, I actually found a piece that I really liked. In the end I only ended up buying two items. A Harry Potter book (couldn’t resist!) and a striped Hollister oxford shirt.

Of course I was immediately drawn to the shirt, it’s exactly my style: classic and simple. In fact, the only pieces of garments that I was drawn to were button-up shirts. There were so many I wanted to buy!

Anywho, a striped oxford shirt is a great addition to your wardrobe.

Firstly, it’s a neutral so you can pair it with a variety of colours, although it seems as though it goes perfectly, and usually looks better, with white. But denim is a great option too.

Secondly, it’s a classic staple, so it’s not going out of style anytime soon. You can wear it over and over again for as long as it stays intact.

Finally, it’s versatile. You can dress it up for the office with trousers or pencil skirt, or dress it down with ripped jeans or shorts and a pair of sneakers. Plus, it gives kind of a nautical vibe so it’s perfect for spring/summer.

Below I have included pictures of how some of my favourite fashion bloggers rock the striped oxford shirt.
