About a month ago my friends and I went on a nine-hour road trip to Manchester, New Hampshire to surprise a friend. Her boyfriend was officially proposing to her and we were going to surprise her at the hotel!
One of the highlights of the trip, other than surprising my friend, was going to Boston. I love to travel and I was excited to explore one of the biggest cities in the United States. We had a whole day in Boston and we walked everywhere, starting from Chinatown to the Boston Commons. It was a tiring day, for sure
The thing that surprised me about Boston was the amount of historic architecture still standing. There were streets, roads and buildings that make it look like I was still in Europe. I love it when big cities still have the original architecture standing, it adds more character and charm to the city.
Maybe that’s why I’m so fascinated with Europe.
Anyways, a good adventure in the city always means the search for the best place to eat. We stopped by the Quincy Market to get some authentic New England clam chowda, and oh boy was it good! I’ve never tried clam chowder before but when I ate it, I was amazed. It was delicious!
I think it’s fair to say that our trip was 80 per cent eating and 20 per cent sightseeing.
Although we only spend pretty much half a day in Boston, I absolutely loved the city. I always think you experience the culture and life of a city better by exploring it on your own than with a tour guide. That way you can explore places you want to explore and spend as much time as you want.
As a broke student, I don’t know when I’ll get another chance to travel, but it was fun to go on a mini last-minute road trip! Hopefully I can travel again soon.
Lovely photos.
thanks! 🙂
